Come out and support your local Fire Dept. (This will be the last breakfast, as we take the summer off. We will pick it back up in the Fall)

April 9 2012:
Handled another Woods Fire off of Bolt Hill Rd, in a remote area along the power lines. This is the 2nd fire in the same area in the last 5 days. Requested Assistance from the Kittery, So. Berwick, and York Fire Dept's. Shipyard provided us station coverage. Both fires are being investigated by the Eliot Fire Dept and the Maine Forest Service.

April 1, 2012: The Department had a very busy March. Logging 29 calls for service. That is more then double the last two months. Of those 29 calls, 9 of them were Motor Vehicle Crashes, 4 Medical Assists, & 3 Mutual Aid/Cover Assignments. The rest were single calls such as a Water Rescue, Fluid Spill, and a Building Lock Out.

January 1, 2012: Thank you for all your support this past year. May 2012 bring you lots of prosperity and good health.

November 18: Congratulations to all the Coloring Contest winners. For the past several years the EFD has conducted a Coloring Contest choosing winners from each of the 17 classrooms at Eliot Elementary School. Each winner is provided a fire truck ride for them and thier family. Here are two examples of our winners. (Top picture - Mrs. Morse 3rd Grade Class. November 12:
Come join us November 20th, 2011 at 3pm as we Re-Dedicate our Member's Plaque in our newly built Memorial Park. Past, Present, Future members along with Citizens of Eliot are engouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served after the small service.

October 3: Chief Muzeroll presented Orland McPherson a 60 year of service plaque. McPherson joined the Department in 1951, over the years has held the rank of Lieutenant, was elecected Honorary Member after his retirement in the early 90's and presented a Life Member pin back in 2001 on his 50th Anniversary. Congratulations Orland!

September 25: Eliot Fire Department would like to thank all those who supported us during Eliot Festival Day by purchasing a food item. Again this year we had to forgo our signature food item, Funnel Cakes. This has been a very hard decision for us the past couple of years. It seems we ask more and more of our firefighters every year which makes it harder and harder for them to balance family time and the Fire Department. Not to mention over the past several years our membership numbers are down significantly. Should this situation change in the future, which we are sure it will, Funnel Cakes will return to our Festival Day menu.

September 11: On the 10th Anniversary of September 11. Members of the Dept. had a small ceremony at the fire station. Members of the Dept. Attended to pay tribute to those who perished on this day. The fire siren whistle was blown and 3 bells rang. (Photo by FF. Hardy)

August 31: Out with the old and in with the new. Picture here is our old 1980 Brigadier Tanker with its replacement. 2011 E-One/Watermaster Tank truck. (Photo by. FF. Hardy)

August 20:

August 1: Monthly training consisted of crews going out to the fire hydrant at the post office behind Eliot Commons and train on the Hydrant Assist Valve.

July 30: Was dispatched to ARC on Rt 236 for a Bulldozer on fire. Units arrived on scene to it being fully involved. Eng 4, Tank 1 and Eng 3 for manpower responded and was had it under control with in 20 min.
